How much does it cost to fill the gas tank of an SUV or Jeep?

I currently have a very small Honda Civic, and am in search of a bigger car that I can fit several people into and that is good for traveling. I'd really love to get an SUV or Jeep Cherokee, but I have been warned that they have terrible gas mileage. So I'm wondering how much is costs to fill the tank and a rough estimate on how much money is spent per month on gas.
 
Assuming you're driving the same distances, the costs are more related to the MPGs of the vehicles rather than the tank fill up cost. This is because the SUVs may come with larger tanks (which are more expensive to fill up, but also require fill ups less often).

A Honda Civic typically gets ~35mpg. In contrast, a medium-sized SUV tends to get ~18mpg. Basically, if you're travelling the same distances, you will be paying twice as much as what you're currently paying for fuel.
 
My grandma have a cherokee. I don't really know but I think it's about 80 to fill up (my friend also have one and she said that's how much it cost her) and I gas milage might be decent. We went from Detroit to Chicago without stopping
