How much is an original 1973 Porsche 911S targa worth?

I need to make an offer on this car and the prices I've seen on the internet are all over the place. this car is original mint condition, aside from the swirls in the paint, whih I understand to be a problem for those years. It has 36k original miles and I would be buying from the original owner. It is silver. Although in wonderful condition, it is not restored. The $100k plus vehicles I see on the internet are all restored. It has some options but nothing crazy. I've always wanted this car but don't want to overpay. I'm thinking $30k - $40k for an opening bid. Thoughts?

Well, thats low mileage indeed. If this guy is selling a car like that, he either needs money or is getting a divorce. lol.. Offer the lower amount for sure. 30g's is very good.. Original owner is very rare. Is it within viewing distance? if not, dont get scammed. Ask him outright what his bottom line would be , if its reasonable, spend the airfare and fly there. I did alot of research before i bought my 996 C4S, and almost got cold feet when i heard of the jerks out there preying on us honest folks.
