How much should i pay for a Lexus ES300?

I have looked at a 1998 Lexus ES300 With 140k miles. The transmission has to be replaced, so after the transmission is replaced by the owner, i am going to offer him $3000, is it a reasonable price? If the owner is smart should he accept the offer? Is it worth getting? Good cosmetic condition.
