how much to fix a shift linkage in a 1995 ford 150?

Go under the truck and take a look at the linkage and see if there is any way to tighten it up. The only option I can suggest is putting in a floor shifter and bypass the column shifter, because it would be easier to just replace the whole steering column than trying to just replace the shifter. why don't you check out your local salvage yards and see what a column goes for and it more than likely doesn't even have to be the exact year.

To begin with, it isn't linkage it is a cable. The plastic that holds the cable in place is probably cracked and broken. The easiest way is to buy another shift cable annd replace the old one. If you look under your dashboard on the top left of the steering column you should see a very small cable looped around a little metal peg, slip that off then crawl under the pickup and on the left side of the tranny you will see the other end of that same cable. disconnect it and install the new one and your on your way. Good luck.
