...brand would be best? I've had my SUV for 2 and a half years now. I had the breaks looked at about 8 months ago. They said they where fine. I don't hear any noises coming from the breaks, but my dad has to change his breaks on his Grand Prix about every two years.
 
I have not changed my brakes for 4 years.

It depends how many miles you drive and how you use your brakes.

I always hit the brakes early so they last longer. Hitting the brakes hard makes them run out faster.

You will notice when you need new brake's.

Plus, when it gets inspected every year, they check if you need new brakes.
 
Depends on mileage and city or hwy driving. Most people are hard on the brakes, and they last only about 10k miles
