How often should I force feed my cat? To keep this shortish, he was attacked by a dog, ran away for 3 days, found him with a very bad infection. Took him to the vet, they took out 12 oz of tissue. 3 days later we got him back. He was eating and was doing very well, but due to the stress he released his nice virus and now has a respiratory infection ( cat cold ) and stopped eating. I saw him drinking so I thought he was eating too. But turns out he was just drinking. It has been about a good 4-5 days since he has actually eaten anything. As soon as I noticed, I mashed up some wet cat food and syringed fed him a bit. I am going to grab his antibiotics refill tomorrow, and ask for some advise on the force feeding and all. I'd just like to have an idea for tonight. So I can keep at it.
I know you want to try to keep him less stressed out and never go in from the front. I know all that. I just have no clue how often to do so. I think I'm going to buy some chicken flavor baby food for him as well.
If it helps he is 13 years old.
