Hello!
I am currently discussing with friends to go on a 2-week trip to South Korea during winter vacation. We are currently freshmen college students but plan to go when we are in our 3rd year when we are all 20-21 years old. But, I am quite concerned with asking my parents for their permission. As their only daughter, I understand if they are worried. (They have heard of stories in which people have been kidnapped or murdered while away from home which scares the heck out of me as well.) My friends and I are the responsible type and I have not done anything to gain any mistrust from my parents, but I do not want to senselessly ask them and cause an argument without asking myself first. Is it okay for a group of 20-21 year old girls to visit another country for vacation? Though maturity level must be at its highest, what would you consider a proper age to go visit another country with friends?
P.S. There will also be no need to know the language as we are all fluent in Korean. We have family members there, but we will not be staying with them.
Thank you in advance!
