How soon can I let my newly adopted 2 yr old burmese cat outside?

I adopted a beautiful and intelligent 2 year old burmese cat just over a week ago and want to know how long I should wait till I let her outside. She was used to going outside at her previous home but I believe she never stayed out for long but did like to jump to high places! She has settled in amazingly well so far and has already gone out with me a couple of times briefly while I was gardening but this afternoon jumped over the fence and it was difficult getting her back. This was also rather alarming as there is a very busy road the other side of a small wooded area at the back of my garden. Should I wait longer or just persevere and not be too afraid of her not coming back?
 
I have let out my adopted cats with a few days of coming to my house without a problem. As long as you think she feels comfortable in the house, I don't think there should be a problem.
 
Never let your cats outside. Especially if you are near a busy road!
 
some people say keep the cat in the house a month so she can get use to the sights, sounds and smells of her new home.

I would recomend that you keep her as an indoor cat. especially being that there is a busy road by you. don't want her to get run over.
 
I got 4 cats, never let them out. They are all happy and healthy. Wise advice: never let them out!
 
I have 5 cats and I never let them outside. I have seen too many that have gotten hurt, in fights, hit by cars, injured by cruel people and more. My pets are safe inside with me. And they are very healthy.
 
I wouldn't suggest letting her outside at all. Its not good for cats to stay outside all the time especially near busy roads. They a lot of times kill birds and rats for food. Stray birds and rats and even road kill can have poisons or pesticides in tier blood which can kill the cat. Or she might not find the house agn because of it being new and die from starvation. There is also a high risk of stray cats getting hit by cars especially near busy roads. I see at least one dead cat a week on the road. Just keep her inside it is safer
