I currently work a full week for the county but would like to start making an effort to learn more and be more ready to support a wife. I'd like to learn a trade and slowly start getting side work. I lean towards plumbing but maybe electrical. I was wondering what steps I need to follow here? From my research it seems I need to be licensed. Is this true for just doing part time side jobs? Would it be better to work with a tradesmen on the weekend or take classes at a community college? Any fatherly advice from a tradesman would be much appreciated. Thanks.
