Okay; here's the story. I have a wireless router downstairs. My room is upstairs, where I usually use my laptop. I connect to the internet via the downstairs wireless router. My other computer's wireless range does not reach all the way to the wireless router. I want to broadcast my internet from my laptop. I know how to setup an ad-hoc wireless network, but when I do, it disconnects me from my router. How do I stay connected to my router but also broadcast ad-hoc? I do not want to hear people tellling me to get one of those antannas that extend my wireless range. I am running windows Vista Home Premium SP1.

You can't. You must have it plugged in via ethernet. I would recomened going and purchasing a 50 or 100 foot ethernet cord, and going ahead and putting it upstairs, or close, and then creating the ad-hoc network.
