How to change ring tone on T-Mobile's sidekick phone?

Okay, so my dad bought a Sidekick phone off the internet that was already used. He's been trying for days to try to figure out how to change the ringtone. Being the PC/Phone/electronic wizz of the family, and due to the fact that on his last phone he couldn't figure out how to get rid of the water noise on the slide lock (it was a chinese knock off of the iphone, the iFone XD) for months and I figured it out in a day, he gave let me take a whack at it. I sat there with it for like two hours, and no luck whatsoever.
Please, if you know how, tell me!!
