How to change ringtones and backrounds on Samsung Intercept?

I downloaded a ring tone from phonezoo.com and want to set it for when I get calls. The only way I can access it though is menu>slide up bar>my files>download>song file's name, and then it will only play it and not give me the option to set it. How do I set it? Also, when I set a background it enlarges it and breaks it into 3 parts, how can I re-size it? Thanks!
