Was going to try and change the sway bar bushings on my 2001 lincoln town car.Was wanting to know if anyone has done this before and have any pointers for me, or if I should just take it in for repair. They seem to have become lose where I can here a rattle in the front from any kind of bump or marking in the road. Looked underneath and they seem to be lose.
The Pittman arm also looks as if it has play in it and the bushing on top of the seems to be bad...Any input on this also?
THANKS for any help

There are two mounts where the bar is attached to the frame of the car, towards the center of the car. There is one bushing per mount & two bolts per mount holding it together. Since the sway ( anti-sway ) bar doesn't support any weight if the car is level, you can remove the mounts & replace the bushings with the car just sitting, if you can slide under it. The pittman arm is a very different situation & requires some specialized tooling to remove it, so best leave that alone.
