how to configure my computer to start from dvd drive?

look....i want to to do a clean install of windows vista on my LENOVO THINKPAD X301 and i cant make my computer to boot from the dvd drive.....i have tried every boot option but none of them worked...it still boots up the normal windows xp...help....its a LENOVO THINKPAD X301 laptop.
 
I usually keep tapping in no particular order "Tab, f2, f10, f12, and del" If something tells you what to do at bootup, but goes away to quickly, you can hit the pause button the keyboard.

One of those key combinations should get you into the BIOS/Setup or the bootmenu.
