How to connect my directv hd dvr to my laptop or transfer files to my laptop?

I have a directv hd dvr and was wondering if there was a way that I could connect it to my laptop so that I can transfer and save the files so I can record them onto a disk or keep them on my hard drive?
 
All you can do is stream video to your computer display. You can not transfer and save files to your computer as you do not own the material and Directv is very aware if they gave people that capability, their shows would be posted all over the internet.

Directv was at one time developing a tuner that would integrate with Windows Media Center, but that work has apparently been suspended.
