how to convert avi to dvd or mpeg or vob with same quality(audio/video/memory)?

help me plz............
i have lots of movies in .avi format and i need to convert
all these movies to any of these formatssuch as .vob or.mpeg or .dvd wit same quality of audio and video and with same memory as .avi so that i can play in standard dvd player.. can any one help me how to convert the files with same quality and memory or plz tell the s/w that can fullfill my requirements....
