Hello

I have a small Peer-2-Peer network. 5 computers total. They work at a small apartment complex. The residents there are wanting wireless internet connection for the donated laptops/ desktops. I don't what them on the same network as the employees. How do I separate the 2 to share the same internet connections?

Specs:
5 Win XP workstations
1 Verizon Wireless DSL Router
17 donated laptops/ desktop(with wireless Nics installed)

Thanks

Get a second wireless router. Connect it to the Verizon router via ethernet cable. Let the new router act as a firewall/gateway to the employees. Protect it with WEP or WPA encryption so the other cannot get into your peer network. The residents will use the Verizon wireless connection. To the employees, they will look like "outsiders".... like any other computer on the internet. So you are firewalled behind then new router, and the residents are one level closer to the internet than you, and they can get out, but not into your network.

Most reasonably priced cable or dsl routers come with a built in firewall. Linksys models do, and I believe I have also seen them in Netgear equipment as well. Check individual specs on the model to be sure.
