Hi, i want to know how i can permanently disable
C:\Program Files\DivX\DivX Update\DivXUpdate.exe
in windows from registry not just by deleting it
well, i want to disable it, not to enable it to check for updates automatically.
Go to your task manager and end the divx process, it may not be called divx there but when you find it and end it, you wont see it until you command it to start again
Simple! If you're just trying to stop it when you start your computer. Which sounds like what you want to do.
Just go to Start and click on Run. Type in "msconfig" without the quotes.
Click on the Startup tab. Now look for DivX Update (you may need to scroll down) and uncheck it.
You don't need to delete anything, and you don't have to repeat these steps every time you start your computer. This is also good for other programs that may be annoying you. I personally uncheck almost everything in Startup tab (it helps to keep my computer running faster).
