how to disable conversation mode on blackberry 8520?

I have the 8520 and this one is refirbished, i hate conversation mode, before I had like lines of words and i could click it and get to my conversation but it didnt look like bubbles.

I also hate the keyboard backlight. if you could help thatd be great
