How to downgrade iphone 4.1 to 4.0.1?

Hi I just bought an iphone 3gs of craigslist and I wanted to jailbreak it and unlock it to use it with t-mobile.I can not downgrade because itunes will not let me, it says its wrong .
Does any body knows a place where I can learn to do it the right way. I will like to be able to just downgrade to either 4.0.1 or lower. All the answers are welcome. Thank you for looking.
 
Hi. You need not downgrade your iPhone to unlock it. You can unlock it without downgrading or jailbreaking itself. You can use the remote unlocking service for it. You can get the remote unlocking service for an iPhone from prounlocking.com at affordable cost with easy unlocking guide. Good luck.
