Use the 2 inch curling iron if you're using the little one. It makes curls thicker & bouuncier. Use shine spray to make them all pretty & shiny
your not using the right iron . A lot of professionals use the best irons and products, which gives you the best looking style.

Your going to need:
1 1/4 inch Hot Tools gold plated curling iron:

Curl Boosting spray:

Hairspray:

Spritz your hair evenly with the curl boosting spray. I recommend cliping your hair into about 2-3 layers, then spraying each layer a little bit, and brushing it through.
After that, clip your hair up into sections again, and take 1 1/2 inch sections, and start curling your hair. depending on the type of hair, your iron should be on a decently high setting. Take the 1 1/2 chunk of hair, and run your iron halfway down the iron, then start curling. Doing this will give you an even looking wave, and it won't fry your hair. If you start curling at the ends of your hair, the bottom will be curly, and the top will be flat giving you poodle-like curls. After you curled the top half, press gently on the clasp to loosen the grip on the hair, pull the iron down until the ends of the hair are covered and roll the iron back up, hold until the outer layer is warm then let go and repeat.
Once the whole head is done, let the curls cool COMPLETELY, then spray your hair with the finishing spray, and run your fingers through completely. If you touch the curls when they're hot, they're going to unwravel and become flat.

Take about a palmful of the curling creme/mousse, then apply to your hair evenly, adding more if necessary. let the creme air dry, then clip your hair up into sections. Take 1 inch sections of hair, then curl in a spiral motion around the iron, keeping the hair in the iron until the outer layer of the hair is warm, then let go and repeat. For that look, you should curl some 1 inch pieces of hair, and some 1/2 inch pieces of hair for the messy look. repeat and finish, and LET THE CURLS COOl. Finish your hair with hairspray, and run your giners trhough once your twice to intermingle the curls.

I put my hair up in two tight braids before i go to sleep and i sleep with the braids then the next morning i take them out(brush them only very slightly) and they come out like that
