How to get free verizon ringtones using a memory card (not texting)?

I've gone through all of the steps to make my own ringtone using itunes and converted the file to a .mid format, but this only allows me to put it into the sounds folder. I was wondering if anyone knows how to transfer a file to a memory card and then have that file be read as a ringtone and not a sound once I put it back into the phone. Again, I have verizon and no texting capability so this is difficult. I have an env2. PLEASE HELP! Anything is appreciated. Thanks!
