how to get prepared for traveling?

im going on a train and i need some advice on what to bring and how to get prepared. im going with a friend im bringing my i pod, a few books, mad lib's , card games, camera that's all i could think of i need some more things to do im going to be on the train for 7 to 8 hrs ik a long time.
