How to get rid of preloaded apps on android phone?? ?

I have the LG Optimus V from virgin mobile, and it came with pre loaded apps like 'where' 'poynt' and 'twidroid' and they keep updating by themselves and it really annoying, so I wanna get rid of them if anyone knows how please let me know and preferably without having to root my phone.
