How to get started on developing apps for iPhone?

I'm a senior in high school, and I really want to make apps for the iPhone, and, as of today, Mac's. I'm decent at Java, and interested in coding languages, although I feel like I have no sources to learn Objective-C or anything about Cocoa. I also feel like languages besides Java/HTML are way over my head. Where can I start down the development path? How can I get in on this app action?
I probably should've mentioned. I have both an iPhone, and a Mac, and am comfortable with both of them. I can get the iOS simulators running, but that's not what I need to know, code wise, what do I need.
 
Start by buying a Mac. iPhone SDK allows for only Mac users to be able to develop iPhone apps.
