I have recently moved country and am staying with my sister and brother in law, and their two poodles. I've brought my female shih tzu and a male min pin with me. Her female poodle gave birth to four puppies 5 weeks ago, and while all the other dogs love the puppies, my shih tzu seems to hate them! We have tried showing her a puppy but she lunged forward and almost bit it (lucky I had her on a leash and pulled back!). And every time she sees one of them she growls. She is very dominant by nature and clearly the alpha dog.
I was wondering if there is a way of introducing the puppies in a safe way, that she wont attack them? At the moment, every time we let the puppies out, we have to lock her away in a separate room.
Any advice appreciated.
