i just got an iphone 4 and want to make it work for tmobile,,,,i have heard that the 4.3.5 version only has a tethered break... is there an untethered? and if so how in the world do i do it???

Yes i jail broke my new iPhone 4 this morning now i am running cydia iOS 4.3.5 the jailbreak was very easy it only took me about 5 mins
