How to make a journalism portfolio?

I would like to know how to make a portfolio to show for journalism employers.. The problem is, I have never been published or had a published article in a newspaper, but I have many writing samples and articles. None of my articles have been published in an actual paper.

I use to have that problem though now I have had articles published on the web and college newspaper so im good.

What you can do is put it in a binder with pages you can place your article in. That is how I turned in work for a class on journalism.
