I just bought a beautiful R1 and i quickly found it doesnt handle like a cruiser at slow speeds. I already managed to drop it once: i arrived at my parking spot at my work place which is slopy so i turned and braked to align the bike to reverse into the spot but it fell when i braked... what should i do to avoid this? Cuz it almost happened when i had just bought the bike but it was daylight so i managed to hold it back after a similar braking and turning manoeuver. Should i simply stay straight when braking and then slip the clutch with both feet over the ground? I dont ever wanna drop it again...
Should i only use rear brake? And never lean the bike at all even if it turns super slowly?

Sportbikes are much more nimble and a whole lot easier to turn at slow speeds than a big ole heavy cruiser. If you tip over while braking-sad to say it was your own fault.Remember when you are going to come to a stop, one foot has to come down to hold you up.A simple mistake, that's all it was,try clicking into neutral if you know you are coming to a stop ,as that will allow you full concentration on your slow turn and stop.Remember if you use the front brake that will allow both feet to skim the pavement as you come to a stop.A little more practice in an empty lot is what you need. You can get both feet on the ground when you come to a stop -The R1 is a little high in the seat dept for some of us vertically challenged people.
