Just to piggyback on what D(A/V)ID says. Depending on the content on the blu ray disk some of those features may also require you to have a intrenet connection as certain PIP features are part of the BDLive function. If your PS3 does not have networking capability through the use of an ethernet cable and connection to the internet via cable modem, certain Blu Ray functions wont work or be very limited. You will also have to have the latest firmware update as well for the BD Live features as PS3 did not have that technolgy when PS3 first came out.
