How to plug in HDMI cable to LG tv? please help! its already a FUll HD tv?

The worker told me to put the HDMI cable to the tv HDMI 1. so i plug them in. and he said take out all the cable that plug to the tv that is the white,red and yellow cable. so does it mean, all cable should be unplugged and only HDMI cable on plugged in to the tv?
