How to receive multimedia messages Lg rumor touch?

I have a virgin mobile rumor touch cell phone on the 25 dollar plan which i recently bought and my friend tried sending me one of those funny noise messages and when i tried opening the file it said that it was unable to recieve multi media message. So is there a setting for multi media to turn on or what do i do in order to receive noise messages.

I can receive picture messages and im not sure about videos but i cant recieve noise messages.
