How to seat one child in a two seat child trailer for bike?

I bought a used child trailer in perfect conditions so i can ride my bike with my baby aboard around my quiet neighborhood but it didn't bring the instructions to how to set it to where it fits one child only. its a 2 seat carrier but it can be adjusted for one child but i don't know how to adjust it. It says it can be adjusted but doesn't say how. Does anyone have one?
