How to send automated mail after backup is complete using XXCOPY?

Is it possible to send automated mail using XXCOPY after backup is over or when there is any backup failure.I am using a batch file which is scheduled and it runs for 3 hrs.In the batch script XXCOPY switches are used which is an application for backup.

Or if anyother alternative for sending automated mail after backup is complete then suggest me.
