How to temporarily turn off smoke effects on FSX?

Since I have absolutely no idea how to use aircrafts like Captain Sim, Level-D, PMDG and all that, I usually land with a freeware aircraft and record it, and when I record it with FRAPS I usually change the aircraft to a payware so it looks like I was flying the payware aircraft (if u get my drift...) but whenever I land, this massive "cloud" emerges from the tire and just surrounds the whole aircraft, which really destroys the reality. So if any of you have a way to disable the smoke effects only when i record, please tell me! I mean I dont want the smoke effect to be gone forever, I just want it gone only when im recording.
