How to trade in pokemon for dsi?

You need the internet or aka wi-fi to communicate with people from different places and the pal pad is for when you can battle with people from all over the world which is cool and can also fill up your pokedex with the pokemon you see at the battle. Oh and you need the pal pad number from both players in order to work here's mine if you wanna battle or trade I have diamond and my name is sofia. Pal pad number: 2752 3346 0718 hope this helped(:
 
You trade over wifi. You need to have a wi-fi connection, set up a connection with tyour DS and when you want to trade you need to give that person your friend code and vice versa.
