How to transfer pictures to DVD-R?

What program do I need? When I insert a blank DVD-R it won't show up whe I select ''My Computer''. There is only that Drive (D but it shows it's empty - 0 bytes. But I have inserted 4.7 GB DVD-R.
I tried to burn using Nero but then that error appears that I have to change something in compilation settings. Where are those settings. Many questions. lol

May be dvd fault.Right click and see properties.If there is 4gb free space.Then there is no fault in dvd.create data dvd by using nero.If there is 0 byte free space then there is a fault in dvd
