I am a single mom of 2 young children. About 3-5 days ago I was carrying my oldest son to day-care when I smashed my index finger in my car door. And the door was locked. So I basically ripped my already crushed finger out of the door. The pain was awful, but I had kids to take care of so I went on. I couldn't use my index finger at all. It was swelled up, throbbing, and the nail was fully black. Now I have just been "Buddy Taping" the ruined finger to my middle finger. I'm pretty sure the smashed finger is broken, because it barely moves at all. The nail is also fully black and swelled up. I'm having a had time because the finger is useless, and I have to carry my kids and do everything alse with only eight fingers, one broken and one taped to the broken one. Any advice on how to treat a black fingernail and a broken finger? And theres no way I'm going to any doctor because I do not have the time or money, and I'm not goign to waste $300 on a stupid finger.
