Im writing a speech about poetry of Victorian times, but i want to start my introduction with an Imagine... so i can introduce the topic.
So far i have Imagine living in a time where there was no electricity, no cars and an unimaginable distinction between the poor and wealthy. A period of evolution in English politics and the expansion of the British Empire, as well as political and social reforms on the continent.
But that is so not interesting! Anyone have any ideas, to make it catchy and interesting?
I also want to aim it to women, so maybe something about the role of women and treatment- so then it can lead easily to my two poets- who are both rich
Sorry if that confuses you, any help is fantastic! thanks
