What I am trying to say is, was GMC M19 Gun Motor Carriage used more as a close support vehicle (due to US air superiority) or used as a mobile air defense platform? Was the vehicle's twin Bofor guns used only when the vehicle was stationary (relocating after firing),or did they fire on the move. I wonder if the US thought about or did adopt their Westinghouse gun gyro stabilizer to this vehicle? Was it an effective weapon used in close support roles? Lastly, I found some stats (which I've copied below) that states there was a crew of 6. What were there roles, I've heard there were 2 loaders? Cheers John. P.S sorry Mark I've been away in Ballarat.
Armament: 2 - 40mm M2 dual automatic guns
Armor: 6mm - 15mm
Engine: Twin Cadillac V-8, Series 44, gas, 110 hp each
Speed: 35 mph
Range: 160 miles
Crew: 6
Weight: 19.25 tons

The M19,"Duster" was used in combat in Vietnam,it was not used as a anti-aircraft gun platform
instead it was used in fire support role, they did not fire on the move as the open gun mount would have caused injuries to crew, the crew consisted of 1 driver,1 commander,2 loaders,1 gunner 1assit.
gunner.
