I was recently at someones house in Germany, and I used their internet to download a cinema cam of Iron Man 2. It kinda sucked. I just got a call that the person I was staying with was demanded €950 ($1200) for downloading "Iron Man 2". Now of course I will pay it, im not a jerk. The claim will be contested in German court of law.

In America your isp provider by law is not allowed to reveal its information (there are other ways they can get you though). Im not quite sure, but I don't think the same restrictions apply in Germany. If it matters, the laptop it was downloaded on is now in America.

Any advice?
I forgot to add, don't lecture me, it doesn't help. And don't say "you deserve it" because the movie costs $15 as a DVD.

i would say i have not downloaded anything because off they will not be able to have any evidence that you downloaded because off when you download the torrent file it just contains the links of the trackers and hash code and trackers can be tracking legal or illegal files or softwares
so what evidence will they be able to have is that you
searched for iron man2
downloaded the torrent file with the hash code
and your internet speed load increased
that all
i would take my chances and would lie that i have not downloaded because they want you to pay fine 1200$ for copying data piece by piece from thousands or even millions of people
F*** them i would enjoy to humiliate those copyright people

i would love to hear further off this story please keep me in touch
