I was recently at someones house in Germany, and I used their internet to download a cinema cam of Iron Man 2. It kinda sucked. I just got a call that the person I was staying with was demanded €950 ($1200) for downloading "Iron Man 2". Now of course I will pay it, im not a jerk. The claim will be contested in German court of law.
In America your isp provider by law is not allowed to reveal its information (there are other ways they can get you though). Im not quite sure, but I don't think the same restrictions apply in Germany. If it matters, the laptop it was downloaded on is now in America.
Any advice?
I forgot to add, don't lecture me, it doesn't help. And don't say "you deserve it" because the movie costs $15 as a DVD.
