I am attempting to figure out how one could go about making a homemade hair wax (like a pomade, but stronger). I currently use Crew Fiber and love it, however, it is quite expensive considering how quickly I go through it. All ingredients listed on this product are shown below in order:
Water, Lanolin Wax, Cetearyl Alcohol, PVP, Alcohol Denat., Tribehenin, Propylene Glycol, Tridecyl Stearate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, PEG-8 Beeswax, Ceteareth-25, Dipentaerythrityl Hexacaprylate/Hexacaprate, PEG-40, Castor Oil, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Triethanolamine, Tetrasodium EDTA, Fragrance, Benzyl Alcohol, Citronellol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Caramel, Yellow 5.
Do any of you know which of these ingredients is necessary, or if they might all be necessary, in order to maintain the wax-like consistency of the product? I would greatly appreciate any pointers or advice you could give regarding this topic.
