...to pass California smog.Help? My check engine light is on.I had a diagnostic done that pulled code 14 that cost $142.63.Now the auto repair shop wants to charge me $112.37 to run another diagnostic on the code 14, that may or may not have additional charges for parts and labor, In the event that the auto technician may need to remove a part to run a diagnoses that may or may not be the solution.If the problem still has not been found then more costly diagnostics are used as a process of elimination including possible additional fees for parts and labor.What is code 14 pulled from the EGR diagnostic mean?Can I fix this problem myself?Does it have anything to do with the speed sensor?Because my speedometer is not working.The auto technician said it may or may not be the speed sensor. Of course he could run a another diagnostic on that if I fork up the cash.If I replace the speed sensor will my check engine light go off?Please HELP!!!
