hows the best way to break my daughters pony?

we have a 12.2 pony and am finding quite difficult to progress with her as im too heavy to get on and my daughter cant ride weve done lunging but not sure what next? my friend has got on her without problems but lives too far to do this reguly. how can i move her on i feel like stuck in pause mode. would love her to be a ride and drive but wouldnt have a clue where to start with driving i have broken horses to ride before but this is more difficult than i thought please HELP thanks

Is she a stocky pony? The average horse/pony can comfortably carry 20% of their body weight, a little more if necessary. I find stockier horses (who are heavier) are much more capable of carrying larger people. Height is not the issue (yeah, you might look silly on a small pony, but it's the weight that counts).

If you think you are still too big, find a horse trainer who is small-statured.
