i need to write a maybe a 5 line summary of the first book of the hunger games by the next 2 days, and i havent started reading the book yet!!! can someone help!

Hahaha cheating! It's an excellent book though, sort of gory too :L
Basically... The American continent is seperated into 12 districts called district 1 district 2 etc. The capitol controls all of them and they try to scare the districts into behaving by throwing 'The Hunger Games' every year where one boy and one girl from the age of 12-18yrs old get chosen from each district, trained and then put into a massive arena to fight to the death. One rule, kill or be killed.
Katniss Everdeen takes her sister, Primrose's (Prim's) place when she is chosen and she and a boy from district 12, the poor/mining district, are trained along with the rest of the contenders before being put in the arena. The boy is called Peta Mellark.
In the arena they pretty much spend the whole time hiding, dying, making a few friends and enemies, all of which end up dying. In the end, Peta and Katniss beat the capitol at their own game by being from the same district and lasting till the end, only one is supposed to win but the two fall in love... Sort of. So after fighting mutant wolves that are made from the DNA of the other dead competitors they have to decide what to do. They end up threatening to ruin the game to the capitol by eating a berry called nightshade at the same time and both dying. The capitol caves in and they both win. But the capitol is angry with them
