I have a ten gallon fish tank with 6 tropical fish. The tank is leaking from underneath and I just used a vacuum to transfer about 3.5 gallons into a regular 5 gallon bucket (like the white ones for Sheetrock or whatever). after this I put the air pump in the bucket and transfered my fish to the bucket. All of the fish are in the bucket now and are doing fine. Obviously i'm going to have to empty the rest of the tank and see where the hole is. My question is... what do I do with the fish? Are they ok in just a plain plastic bucket? The water is fine because it's the same water from the tank but how do I keep it heated or do I wait off on the heater? Do I put the rocks in the bucket and should I keep a light on or feed them the same... etc. Please help me. Easy ten points for the best/quickest answer.
