I'm creating a hypothetical experiment and it asks for the hypothesis and then the experimental prediction, but I didn't know their was a difference between the two... can you explain what information is included in each?

Hyopthesis: General e.g. All swans are white

Expt prediction: What will happen in one given case, e.g. the next swan I see will be white.

NB: the prediction can be right even if the hypothesis is wrong (there are black swans in Australia). But if the prediction turns out to be wrong, the hypothesis must be discarded or, more often, modified. e.g. All Northern Hemisphere swans are white.

hypothesis is a guess based on prior knowlegde of the subject. a experimental prediction is a guess based on prior knowledge and knowledge based on every source's info on the subject.

hypothesis-guess before you start

experimental prediction-guess after you read/ discuss
