I mean via Wifi, say my ISP dropped me and I tricked out my box and bought a router to pick up signals 2 miles away would I be able to connect to them and get internet if my ISP dropped me?

Theres no such thing as a router that picks up a signal from 2 miles away first of all. Signals just dont travel that far.
And second you'd have to set up your router to relay DHCP etc from the router your connecting to the internet through, and they have those things locked down pretty tight. So chances are you wont be able to connect another router to it.

haha yah you mean "without paying for it, I know!!!"

actually, there are certain tools that you can use to pick up a signal two miles away. its called a signal amplifier. the person that owns the router should have the amplifier though. you can connect to someone elses unsecured network and use their ISP for free. generally people that use unsecured networks dont mind if you use their network. why pay for it if you can get it for free.
