away their guns? who in office is proposing this or is this just a myth created to scare people into voting republican?

never going to happen. Dems passed the bill letting us take guns into national parks this year. The gun control lobby has what all of 3 congressmen?

Nobody believes in gun control anymore. Which is good because it only makes guns more accessible. Similar to the drug war, which puts crack dealers on every street corner.
 
'bare and phallused'-it is not a lie, the idea is projected by gun control. gun control is not a myth.

and when gun control goes into full effect it does take guns away from "the people", including hunters.

NRA is a public interest group. protecting our Constitutional right to bare arms.

If that's simply nothing more than a fabricated lie they've made up, where's their motive, why would the NRA even need to lie in that case; further why would they even need to exist in that case?

so to the person who said the NRA is spreading that myth, you're mistaken. please don't base your beliefs on what someone tells. i hate hearing people just repeat other peoples words!!

Also, to whoever said the only legitimate cause for people to own guns other than hunting, is to harm other people with guns, you're also wrong.

some people own guns because the idea of simply having one is protection enough to not have to use it, thus lowering crime rate.
Case in point - The idea of Nuclear Warfare...
A hegimone wants nuclear weapons but does NOT want to use them. that would be a world disaster. it's the threat of being able to use them if necessary that in fact prevents them from having to be used.
 
It's a common trend that conservatives favor less gun restrictions and liberals favor more.

Almost all forms of gun control were passed by a liberal government, so many conservatives take that to its extreme end and assume that all liberals want to ban all private guns. This simply isn't true as a blanket statement. Yes, there are some liberals who would like to ban private guns outright, but most really believe that gun control laws will cut down on violent gun crime all while leaving legal owners with protection from the law.

In reality, it's just a fear response. Even hardcore liberals would never try for an outright ban since they know that they would lose a very large portion of the voting public. In the end, politicians only care about one thing: themselves. If they voted to ban guns, they would be voting to remove themselves from office in the next election. They are corrupt, but they aren't stupid.
 
It's a partial myth, but there is some truth in it.

As a rule, Dems are fine with hunting. Single shot shotguns, 2 or 3 shot hunting rifles. They don't care about those.

However, other guns, many of them would like to see them taken away or restricted. We see that in California with limits on guns we can have, and the federal gov't did it during Bill Clinton's term with the Assault Rifle ban.

Trust me, it ain't the GOP voting for those.

The Republicans foment war but protect the unborn. [ However, if you want to adopt it out then they won't allow that either.] So to hear they profess to be against gun control and gays and pregnant teenagers. [Those are not your typical voters.] Doesn't shock me.

The bottom line is all they are concerned with, how to make more money and they are rich money lovers. So they will say or do anything they have to do to scare people into voting Republican.
The muslims are going to get us, yet, 40,000 died in traffic accidents and triple that number were injured permanently. A whole lot more deaths than what the muslims have done so far.
How many have died from cancer? Yet, they want all controls over cancer causing substances stopped. Why? Because it would cost big businesses a lot of money.

Dump oil into the Mexican gulf but if we do not allow it they will cut jobs on the oil rigs.
So it is economic black mail, to deregulate a very corrupt industry.

No democrat is going to take guns away from the USA. We have to many rattlesnakes and other pit vipers running around and cowboys could not maintain the cattle without guns.
What about alligators, and razor back hogs and other wild life that is in all of our rural areas where people are now living. Try living in a Louisiana swamp without a gun?

Those are scare tactics and they work so why stop?
 
No myth, they dems are trying to take away guns from law abiding citizens bit by bit, right now as I write this, theirs a bill waiting to be signed to take away your rights to carry a gun, U must prove that u need to carry, but the bill wants to take this away.
This is one reason every one is upset, they keep nit picking every step of the way. and over the years politicians will eventually have them all, and citizen will have nothing to protect themselves if need be.
Then the government can do what ever they damn well please. Read your history. Please

I don't think a Democrat has tried gun control since Bill Clinton's first administration.

Somebody (possibly at Colt) started a rumor that Obama was going to try to take away guns so of course sales went through the roof.
